October 4th...The Day Baseball Was Good

So I'll add pictures as soon as my lovely counterpart and photographer gives them to me, but I wanted to go ahead and start writing about today's game.

Today was awesome!

It was like how baseball is supposed to be.  I sat in great seats 175ft from home plate, I had a perfect view of the field, the scoreboards, the other game updates, you name it.  I had my I phone headset in one ear listening to the radio broadcast of the game and then jumped over to the Twins and Tigers battles to hear a little of it.  I enjoyed some sun shine.  I had some Montgomery Inn pulled pork and chips with a Jack and Coke to drink.  The seats around me were empty for at least a little while which let me eat in peace and comfort. (Later it filled in but I didn't mind so much this time...)

I watched Homer Bailey actually pitch like he's been talked about instead of being a dark horse.
I watched everyone hit well, and not be home run hitters.  There was actual small ball being played and it was fun to watch.

Even though he was on the other team I got to watch Andrew McCutchen (sp?) steal bases and do all the things I've watched him do for years in AAA ball Indianapolis.

I was engaged with all my senses and was at that point where I really could argue with anyone who normally tells me "Baseball is boring"  Today was baseball in all it's splendor, every penny was worth what it was spent for.

Now that's awesome! Baseball is a great sport and I love the fact that you mentioned McCutchen. I would love to have him on my team. Hopefully, Bailey will pitch like he's capable of next year too.

Thanks Ron,

I'm try to be a fan of the sport rather just a fan of a single team, but I of course do have my favorites. Homer is young and he's just getting to the point where we can figure out if he really is worth it or not. Thanks for commenting, and link me on your site if you continue to like reading my blog, and I'll do the same!
